The town of Lagoa is mourning the loss of its son Inácio Martins Gravanita – founder of long-standing photography shop Foto Gravanita in Lagoa – who passed away on Wednesday (March 5) at the age of 87.
His death was announced on his son’s Facebook’s page – Inácio Manuel Gravanita who followed in his father’s footsteps as a successful photographer and who has been running the shop for many years. The announcement immediately received countless messages of condolences from family, friends and many loyal clients – members of the foreign community included. In 1968, Inácio Martins Gravanita photographed Paul McCartney, unquestionably one of the highlights in his long and successful career as a photographer.
The funeral is on Friday, March 7, at 3.30pm, starting at the Igreja da Misericórdia de Lagoa.
