Farense, who like Olhanense also faced similar financial difficulties a few weeks ago, seem to have a brighter future nonetheless and start pre-season training next Tuesday (June 23).
It has been confirmed that keeper Ricardo Neves, defenders Hugo Ventosa & Diogo Silva, midfielders Bilro and Matthew, and forwards Edinho Junior & Irobiso have signed new contracts.
In addition, youth team players Miguel Carvalho (goalkeeper), Celso (defender) and André Afonso (midfielder) have been added to the senior squad.
SC Braga, who finished fourth in the top-flight last season, will play a pre-season friendly on Thursday (July 18), with the kick-off scheduled for 8pm at the Estádio de São Luís (behind Faro Hospital).
Farense has also scheduled three warm-up games against English teams: Luton (July 7), Brentford (July 14) and Bristol City (July 21).
