Farense march on

Following their success in the Portugal Cup, the Faro-based outfit racked up their 13th league victory in the Campeonato de Portugal Division E with the 3-0 home win over CD Operário (Azores) with goals from Jorge Alves, Octávio Barros and a penalty converted by Irobiso. The visitors had two players sent-off – Paulo (13’) and Hidélvis Jardim (69’).

Shock of the day was bottom club Lusitano VRSA 3-0 home win over second placed Pinhalnovense.

José Oliveira opening the scoring from the penalty spot after 27 minutes, and six minutes later Hudson Teixeira added a second with Valter Fernandes adding the third in the second-half.

Moncarapachense lost 2-1 in Lisbon against Oriental whilst a crazy game in Armação de Pêra between Os Armacenenses and Louletano ended 4-2 to the home side. There were nine yellow cards, two penalties, an own goal and two goals in the final minute!
