With six victories in their last seven games, SC Farense have moved two points clear at the top of the Segunda Liga in their quest to bring Primeira Liga football back to Faro.
Last weekend they travelled to Coimbra to play Académica where the home side took the lead on the half-hour mark through João Mendes. The visitors levelled matters seven minutes later when Fabrício Simões slotted home.
With time running out, Fabrício Isidoro grabbed a late winner for Farense five minutes from time.
Former Dundee United and Scotland U20 international Ryan Gauld is beginning to establish himself in midfield following his permanent move to Farense in the summer.
