Farense celebrated their 104th anniversary with a solid 3-1 win over Portuguese football giant Sporting on Tuesday night at the São Luís Stadium in Faro. The ‘Lions’ presented a starting line-up with many players from their reserves and a couple of first-team regulars, such as Wilson Eduardo, Carillo and Eric Dier. Still, they were unable to fight back as Farense’s Livramento, Diogo Alves and João Reis netted three goals to the delight of the crowd. Centre-back Rubén Semedo scored Sporting’s sole goal.
