SC Olhanense president Isidoro Sousa will be under fire from fans after the club has had to switch tomorrow’s game (Saturday) to the Algarve Stadium, Faro.
A month ago assurances were given that the poor state of the pitch at the José Arcanjo Stadium in Olhão would be rectified in time for the game against high-flying Estoril.
A statement issued on Tuesday makes a number of points as to why the change has to be made but the big question is ‘Why was the renovation work not started until two weeks ago?’
A member of one of the supporters groups said: “We are very unhappy. There is every likelihood that many fans will boycott the Algarve Stadium and watch the game on Sport TV.”
The club will again be offering free return coach travel from Olhão to the Algarve Stadium. Kick-off is 6.15pm and ticket prices vary: €5 for socio-members and between €10 and €20 for non-members.
