The family of 41-year-old IPO hospital operational assistant Sónia Azevedo who died on January 1 two days after receiving the first shot of Pfizer vaccine is still waiting for the results of the autopsy.
Days after Ms Azevedo’s death a statement from the Justice Ministry said the autopsy “did not establish any relationship with the Covid-19 vaccine”. But it stopped short of saying anything further, claiming the matter was covered by Secrecy of Justice (click here).
A month on and tabloid Correio da Manhã says the woman’s heartbroken family is still waiting for clarification.
They have reportedly written to the Ministry of Justice asking for a copy of the autopsy report, but “continue without answers”.
Marking a month since her mother’s death, one of Ms Azevedo’s two children has written a beautiful tribute over social media: “You will always be in my heart, and I will mourn your loss forever, remembering what a marvellous mother you always were, doing everything for me and my brother”.
As CM stresses, Sónia Azevedo’s death shocked all who knew her. There was absolutely no sign that she had any underlying health issues. She was a happy, healthy woman who simply died suddenly two days after receiving her first shot of the Pfizer vaccine.
