A man carrying a fire arm and presenting himself to drivers as an undercover policeman has been ‘freed’ from custody due to the ongoing strike by court clerks. Says SIC, the man – who drove a car sporting luminous blue signs – managed to fine a number of people on the Mem-Martins roundabout in Sintra. But because the law demands people be released from detention after 48-hours if they haven’t been presented to court, time ‘ran out’ and the man has been released. The strike by court clerks is due to continue for another two weeks. SIC does not explain whether the man has had his gun confiscated, nor whether his car’s luminous blue signs have been removed.
