Music sales in Portugal in the first half of 2011 have fallen by 40% in comparison to the same period last year according to figures from the Portuguese Phonographic Association (AFP).
The AFP hope to meet with the secretary of state for culture to discuss the situation, which they believe is not solely due to the crisis but is also largely associated as a result of widespread piracy within the industry.
