An unlikely bank robber – who raided Lagos’ Caixa Agrícola on a rainy day, with an umbrella in one hand and fake gun in the other, has been caught a week after his unorthodox getaway using public transport.
The 58-year-old who had only recently been released from prison made off with €1,300.
But he wasn’t difficult to trace, as he made no attempt to hide his face, already ‘well known’ to local police.
The man, who lives in the Lagos area, was tracked down within six days and is now in preventive custody awaiting trial, reports Correio da Manhã.
Of the money he stole, around €600 has been recovered, adds the paper.
