THE EXHIBITION and sale of handicrafts and regional products has had a strong impact on the developing economy of the Algarve. One of the main events showcasing these such products is FATACIL (Feira de Artesanato, Turismo, Agricultura, Comércio e Indústria de Lagoa) in Lagoa, which this year takes place between August 18 and 27. Held annually since 1993, it often attracts up to 200,000 visitors each time. Another similar event, the Feira de Caça, Pesca e Mundo Rural in Loulé, showcasing hunting and fishing equipment and regional products, is taking place this year between July 7 and 9.
