A massive fire at a warehouse in Sacavém last week destroyed its entire stock of fire-extinguishers, terrifying residents as it burned.
“I woke up to a noise that sounded like gunshots,” Nelson Almeida told Correio da Manhã. “It was very scary. Then there were explosions, about 10, and lots of smoke.”
The factory, one of five in an industrial area, was totally destroyed.
