Former president of BPP bank João Rendeiro is back in Westville Jail, South Africa, today, for all intents and purposes until the next scheduled hearing on May 20. The court that has been dealing with Mr Rendeiro since he was ‘captured’ after three months ‘at large’, evading a jail sentence for fraud in Portugal, has set aside two dates in June – the 13th and 30th – for deliberations concerning the process of extradition (which Mr Rendeiro’s defence counsel has claimed is unconstitutional under South African law).
