Exports || October hits 2014 record high

October was the best month this year for Portuguese exports.
Compared to the same month last year, exports were up by 9.4% representing €4.6 billion – the largest income from exports registered so far this year.
Exports also increased 13.1% compared to September 2014.
Portugal’s Statistics Institute (INE) says the increase is mainly due to Portugal exporting more “vehicles and other transport equipment, mineral fuels and agricultural products”.
There was also a significant rise in the number of exports to countries outside the EU (18.3%), which in October accounted for €1.5 billion of Portugal’s total export income.
