Expo Dubai: “an enormous opportunity for Portugal’s image”

Opening on Friday, after a year’s hiatus due to the pandemic, is Expo Dubai in which Portugal has invested €21 million in a sumptuous pavilion, constructed in the form of a caravela, to showcase everything connected to the national identity. The exercise is focused on reaching new markets in tourism and investment. Foreign affairs minister Augusto Santos Silva has called it “an enormous opportunity for the image of Portugal”. The exhibition runs until March next year, and is expected to attract as many as 25 million people.
