Explosion in Sintra following attempts to inflate a mattress

Firefighters were called to an apartment in Agualva, Sintra, over the weekend, following disastrous attempts to inflate a mattress. According to reports, the compressor used by the homeowner exploded, causing quite considerable damage to the apartment, and injuries to the unfortunate homeowner. A photograph in Correio da Manhã shows a blown out window, and metal structure hanging precariously from the building.
