Two walks to explore new sections of the Via Algarviana (Algarve Route) will take place this weekend.
There is no charge to take part in these walks and they are seen as “an excellent way of celebrating European Mobility Week”, said organisers Almargem.
Tomorrow (Saturday) from 9am walkers will take in the “much anticipated” section linking Marmelete (Monchique) to Aljezur. The meeting point is the church in Marmelete. The Mata de Barão de São João forest in Lagos will be the setting for Sunday’s walk, followed by a walk on the new section linking the railway station to Bensafrim. The meeting point is the picnic park (Parque de Merendas) at 9am. Participants are encouraged to bring water, a snack, hat and comfortable clothing and shoes.
