2010 marks the 40th anniversary of the death of legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix and in celebration, a compilation of unreleased music by the music icon will be released later this year.
Valleys of Neptune is due to be released on March 9 while old classics Are You Experienced, Axis, Electric Ladyland and First Rays of the New Rising Sun have all been digitally remastered for the next generation of Hendrix fans to enjoy.
The album contains 12 songs mainly taken from sessions recorded at the Olympic Studios in London and the Record Plant of New York, both during 1969.
Former Hendrix music engineer Eddie Kramer said: “You hear the pure essence of the band, an in your face vibrancy. Jimi is singing as if in concert. He’s at the top of his game.”
