Exhausted Portuguese arrive home from Brazil on ‘repatriation flight’

Just under 300 Portuguese ‘stuck in Brazil’ for weeks – due to the coronavirus-led flight ban – arrived home on Saturday, on a repatriation flight that many complained was ‘very expensive’. Passengers who had not purchased their original tickets to and from Brazil with TAP found themselves forced to shell out €850 plus the added expense of taking a PCR test. In spite of everyone flying in having tested negative, they will all now have to spend 14 days in self isolation in their homes.
