With the goal of boosting its citizens’ quality of life and as part of the council’s social agenda, Castro Marim Town Hall has organised an Excursion Programme for 2014.
Taking place between May and November, the programme will comprise excursions to some national and international tourist destinations and historic attractions, including activities such as a fun day at water park Slide & Splash, a cruise in the Tagus river and trips to Madrid, and Elvas and Badajoz.
According to a press release sent by the municipal authority to the Algarve Resident, whilst the programme was limited by the council’s financial restraints as a result of austerity, it still aims to provide citizens, especially seniors, with opportunities to socialise.
The first excursion will take place on May 10-11 with a visit to the Shrine of Fátima, about an hour drive from Lisbon.
