Exciting day for disabled riders

Disabled riders from the region took part in the annual Riding for the Disabled in the Algarve Gymkhana, at the Pinetrees Riding Centre in Almancil.

The event is organised to show off the skills learnt by the riders following weekly lessons at the centre. Through this event, owner Beverley Gibbons along with Rosemary Owen, the president of the association are able to show parents and friends attending the event what the riders have learnt.

More than 30 riders entered the gymkhana with each winning a prize for taking part, and the gymkhana was followed by a barbeque with chickens donated by Aviludo and cooked by Miguel Estavão of Martinha’s restaurant in Almancil and ice creams donated by Silva e Dias.

A spokesman from Pinetrees Riding Centre said: “We would like to thank everyone who helped with this day, including the Almancil International Rotary Club, the Rotary Club Estoi Palace International and Dunas Douradas.”
