The Amigos de Música will present two concerts this month with two “exceptional pianists” playing solo or with four hands: multi-faceted Irina Chkourindina from Geneva and Aleksandr Shaikin, winner of many international contests, who just recently left Russia.
The concerts will take place on Tuesday, October 24 and on Thursday, October 26 in the Auditorium of Os Agostos, an 18th century country estate located above Santa Bárbara de Nêxe.
On Tuesday, the two pianists will play solo or duo works by Brahms, Schubert, Debussy and Ravel, while on Thursday, they present works by Rachmaninoff, Debussy and Astor Piazzolla.
Amigos de Música concerts at Os Agostos begin at 7pm. Doors open at 6pm and wine, fruit juices and canapés will be served. There will also be a short interval.
The Amigos de Música is an international group of around 120 members who stage musical activities with internationally renowned musicians and also sponsor young Portuguese musicians. It is a non-profit organisation and celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2021.
