Exceptional festive gastronomy at Conrad Algarve

There will be no shortage of Christmas and New Year’s festivities at Conrad Algarve. The five-star hotel in Quinta do Lago has unveiled its programme for the festive season which includes a festive brunch, festive tea parties, special Christmas dinners and lunches and a New Year’s celebration which has been dubbed the ‘Party of the Century’.

Throughout the whole month of December, pastry chef Roberto Horta will be preparing ‘Festive Tea Experiences’ at Lago Lounge which will feature a selection of festive delights made exclusively for this occasion.

The event is described as a “ritual that includes sandwiches accompanied by a variety of tasty scones and sweets and served with an exclusive selection of teas and traditional mulled wine”. Price is €35 for adults and €17.50 for children.

A Christmas Eve dinner with live music is planned at the one-Michelin-starred restaurant Gusto by Heinz Beck, at 7pm. The five-course menu costs €175 for adults and €110 for children. A premium bottle of wine can also be reserved before the event.

There will also be a Christmas Eve dinner at Louro restaurant, led by chef Osvalde Silva, where guests can enjoy a four-course meal of traditional Portuguese flavours to the sound of live music for €95 for adults and €55 for children.

On Christmas Day, starting at 1pm, you can “discover the Mediterranean flavours” of Gusto by Heinz Beck by choosing one of the many dishes available à la carte or instead enjoy a Christmas Brunch at Louro for €105 for adults and €49 for children.

Another highlight will be a ‘Festive Brunch’ on December 29 at Louro, from 1pm to 4pm, where a buffet featuring a variety of regional specialties and a glass of champagne will be complemented by live entertainment, all for €55 (adults) and €29 (children).

For New Year’s Eve, Conrad Algarve is promising to take guests back to November 28, 1966 when 540 close friends of author Truman Capote turned up for his Black and White Ball in New York City.

Described as the ‘Party of the Century’, the event will take place in the hotel’s ballroom and will feature live entertainment, a five-course wine-pairing dinner and a bottle of Laurent Perrier champagne per couple to enjoy during the fireworks show. Cost is €340 for adults and €180 for children.

For a more intimate experience, Gusto by Heinz Beck will host a New Year’s Eve dinner with eight dishes and premium wine-pairing, the chance to choose a prestige wine-pairing experience for €75, a bottle of Laurent-Perrier champagne and live music and fireworks, with prices at €375 (adults) and €190 (children).

At Louro, guests can enjoy a buffet dinner with wine pairing and a bottle of Laurent-Perrier to welcome the New Year with the party continuing after the clock strikes 12 in the ballroom (€195/adults, €115/children).

Louro will also host a New Year’s Day Brunch featuring several Portuguese specialties served with a glass of Laurent-Perrier champagne. Price is €105 for adults and €49 for children.
