Concert || Rock fans across the Algarve are expected to scramble for tickets to relive the repertoire of one of the biggest rock bands of all time – Genesis – performed by the band’s former guitarist Steve Hackett.
The concert is scheduled for May 30 at Centro de Congressos do Arade in Lagoa, starting at 9.30pm, and will feature the band’s biggest hits as well as a selection of tunes from Hackett’s solo career.
Firth to Fifth, The Musical Box and Dancing with the Moonlight Knight are some of the songs on the set list.
Hackett was a member of Genesis between 1970 and 1977, contributing to six of the band’s studio albums and numerous hit singles alongside original line-up Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford.
Throughout their career, Genesis sold over 150 million albums worldwide, with fans and critics consensually naming them one of the biggest rock acts of all time.
Although the band is currently not together, Hackett has decided to put his solo career on hold in order to celebrate the band’s legacy with the ‘Genesis Extended 2014 World Tour’, which has already hit both the US and other European countries.
Steve Hackett’s concert in the Algarve is a Ritmos & Blues production and is being promoted by the regional tourism board.
Tickets, costing €25, can be purchased at the venue on the day of the concert.
