All measures are now in place for the collection of tolls on the A22, with national roads company Estradas de Portugal (EP) just waiting for legislation to be passed by the government.
Ana Tomáz from EP confirmed the situation during a parliamentary hearing regarding an audit of the entity.
She said: “We have everything prepared to start the collection of tolls” and added that all EP were waiting for was the conclusion of the necessary legislative process before payments on the roads can begin.
Meanwhile, the conclusion of the audit found that EP is at risk of financial unsustainability from 2014.
