Pet Corner | Cool for Cats
It’s supposed to be ‘A dog’s life’, but judging by APAA’s latest re-homing conquest, ‘Every cat has its day’. Well, at least three of them certainly did.
‘Marmaduke’, pictured with his new owner Andrea, now in the lap of luxury. His mates, ‘Puffy’ and ‘Sootie’, have also found new domiciles. One went to his old friend, the cleaner’s home, and the other to a client of the cattery in which they were lodging. Thanks to APAA’s Facebook editor Lisa, and Trevor. Trevor runs Colonies for Felines in Ferragudo. We covered the furry ‘threesome’ some months ago. But it goes to show time is on our side. Well done, everyone!
‘Lilly’, on the other hand, is still a “Lady in Waiting”. Having suffered an almost tragic traffic accident, and surviving major surgery, she was re-homed by Joaquim. Happy days… until unfortunately generous Joaquim had to be re-homed. “But they don’t take dogs…”
‘Lilly’ is a special pet, she doesn’t mix with other dogs, she is a one-man-or-woman doggie, as the case may be. But companionship, loyalty and love are a good return.
To give ‘Lily’ a loving home, contact Caroline England at Pet Park in Mexilhoeira Grande ([email protected], www.petparkpethotel.com, Facebook: Pet Park Hotel). Why not book time and visit not only ‘Lilly’, but also ‘Ela’ or ‘Dusty?’.
Jackie’s Posh Tea Party celebrating Queen Elizabeth’s 70th Platinum Jubilee was sold out. Anita’s Cake Sale, which included savoury and sweet goodies, was full to bursting. But don’t worry, APAA’s ‘Pop-Up Queen’ Anita will be returning to Recanto dos Mouros, a beautiful restaurant in the heart of Silves’ panoramic countryside. So, mark up your diary for Friday, June 24. There will be paintings, gadgets and gizmos at bargain prices, from 12 noon to 3pm. Pre-book lunch (1pm) with Jenny at [email protected].
Dig into pockets
APAA’s ‘Here to Help’ helping hands are doing the best they can in these extra tough times. Please donate unwanted items to their charity shops. Don’t forget all the goodies will be up for sale in their shops and at our Pop-Up events. Someone’s unwanted gift is another person’s precious treasure!
Lick lips time
A little birdie has said that if you want to be “royally” fed APAA can stand up to the plate. Special lunch, brunch, dinner or tea? Nothing better than relax with your friends, in your own home, and be waited on, hand and foot. Planning, buying, prepping, cooking all done. No washing up. Call Jenny 919 041 903 or email [email protected]. Bring it on!
