Helena Costa, once dubbed the “female Mourinho”, has resigned from her historic post as female manager of French Ligue 2 club Clermont Foot 63, claiming the club has shown a “total lack of respect, and amateurism”.
Costa said that players were signed without her knowledge and that Clermont’s sporting director failed to reply to emails for five days.
Although first only citing “personal reasons”, Costa later spilled the beans while the club’s president Claude Michy told reporters: “She simply told me: I am leaving.”
