European regulator approves use of Modern Covid vaccine for children

Following its approval of the Pfizer vaccine for 12-15 year olds, European medicines agency (EMA) has approved the Moderna vaccine for the same age grouping, actually extending it to all ages under 18. Prime minister António Costa, health minister Marta Temido, education minister Tiago Brandão Rodrigues and DGS health director Graça Freitas have all shown their enthusiasm for children to start being vaccinated against Covid-19 during the summer holidays, in spite of reticence shown by many pediatricians.
