‘Rookie of the Year’ Ricardo Santos began his 2013 challenge in Durban, South Africa, yesterday (Thursday).
The 30-year-old from Faro qualified for the €2 million Volvo Golf Champions, open to last year’s PGA European Tour winners by virtue of his success at the Madeira Open.
“It’s the ideal tournament to start off the season”, Santos said. “We are guaranteed to play all four rounds without the pressure of having to worry about missing the cut making for a competitive 72 holes.”
