EU to lift Libyan sanctions
European Union foreign ministers were expected to approve the lifting of UN sanctions against Libya at a meeting in Luxembourg earlier this week.They will also discuss an Italian proposal to ease an EU arms embargo on Libya, a move that could boost hi-tech efforts to curb illegal migration. EU ambassadors decided on September 22 that the sanctions on Libya, imposed in 1992, should be lifted.
