Portugal have reached the final of the Euro 2016 football tournament following a 2-0 win against Wales tonight in Lyon, France.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani scored the two goals that flushed Gareth Bale and company’s hopes down the drain, giving Portugal a chance to fight for its first international title on Sunday in Paris against either France or Germany.
The only time Portugal reached the final of a Euro competition was in 2004 when the country hosted the tournament. The final ended tragically for Portuguese fans, however, as the national team lost 0-1 to Greece.
Redemption is now just a few days away, and a new page in Portuguese football history is just one win away from being written.
