EU gives green-light to northern railway’s €119 million upgrade

Train passengers in the north on the line that runs between Ovar and Gaia can look forwards to “greater comfort and security” as the European Commission has given the go-ahead to €119 million in funding towards essential railway upgrade.

Says a statement released on Tuesday the funds will also lead to shorter travel times.

The line is not simply passenger-focused. It makes up part of the transEuropean transport network.
