A couple was arrested in Portugal on January 10 for alleged connections to the Basque separatist group ETA.
The suspects, a male and a female, were stopped in their van by police as they approached the Spanish border near Bragança, north of Portugal.
Portuguese police found explosives and weapons in the van and Spanish police believe that the couple have been operating from a base in Portugal.
It is expected that the two suspects will be extradited to Spain to face charges after a European arrest order was made against them.
