QUINTA DA Marinha Golf Club has been selected by the European Challenge Tour to host the Estoril Challenge de Portugal. The golf tournament will take place from June 28 until July 1 with a prize fund of 130,000 euros.
Manuel Agrellos, president of the Portuguese Golf Association, believes the Estoril Challenge “offers young Portuguese golfers the opportunity to compete against some of the best professional European players”.
This is the second time the Challenge tour has come to Estoril in the past three years. Englishman Tom Whitehouse won the title in 2004 and since has become a regular on the European circuit as a result of his success.
