A spokesman from the Espírito Santo Hotel Group has announced the purchase of the Marina Hotel in Portimão Marina. The transaction, worth 14 million euros, means the Tivoli chain now owns five hotels in the Algarve and 12 throughout Portugal. Negotiations for the purchase of the hotel had been underway since the end of last year, but it is understood that Espírito Santo sealed the deal with Barlavento Marinas in the last few months. Situated at the heart of the marina, between the north and south basins, the four star hotel contains 183 suites, two outside pools, a conference centre with capacity for 250 people, a children’s playground, two restaurants and a shopping zone.
