Espiche Golf’s Clubhouse in Lagos is the Algarve’s nominee this year for the national real estate ‘Oscars’, known in Portuguese as ‘Prémio Nacional do Imobiliário’.
The club is nominated in the ‘Tourism’ category and hopes to bring home another accolade after being named third best ‘Clubhouse of the Year’ in 2015 by Golf Inc. Magazine (click here).
The award ceremony will take place on April 18 at Hotel Tivoli in Lisbon.
Built into the hillside on the site of an old Algarve farmhouse, the clubhouse “integrates beautifully into the existing landscape, using stone from the original building to form the outer walls and to maintain an appearance both modern and sympathetic to the local surroundings,” Espiche Golf writes on its website.
It was designed by German architect Nadine Berger, built in 2014 and boasts terraces and lounges on two levels, a restaurant and bar area, an inner patio garden, changing rooms, a golf shop and reception area.
