EU businesspeople attend wine tasting in Alvor

 A wine tasting presented by Algarve-based consultant and author Jack Soifer was held at the Golfland restaurant in Alvor on May 26.

The event was attended by mostly “Nordic and British businessmen, several of whom have already handed over the reins of their companies to their children, but continue to preside over the Board of Directors. Most have their second home here and some are looking to buy a house in the Algarve”, said Soifer.

Jack Soifer presented six wines, interspersing with the history of wines in Portugal and the history of each family of winemakers, some he has known for 40 years.

Malhadinha Nova and Casa Relvas from Alentejo, Cabrita and Quinta dos Vales from the Algarve were the producers chosen for this event.

“The group in attendance not only has many representation dinners, but they also influence restaurants in their cities across Europe,” said Soifer, who encouraged participants to give their opinion on the wines, and even made them sing and dance.

Another wine tasting event is already scheduled for the end of September.
