MIKE Saunders and Brian Moran of Boavista Golf Club organised an entertainment evening for their golf buddies at the Hotel Algarve Casino to raise funds for Lagos orphanage, Lar dos Jovens do Centro Social de Assistência Lucinda Anino dos Santos. A total of 66 people attended the event which was a great success. Raffle tickets were sold and two prizes were up for grabs. The first prize of 100 euros was won by Mark Ellis, and the second prize, a bottle of Moet & Chandon kindly donated by the Hotel Algarve Casino, was won by John Brancker. The evening raised more than 700 euros, which will be used to set up a lounge/TV room for the children at the orphanage. Mike and Brian would like to thank all involved and they hope this was the first of many events to help the centre.
