Films to be screened include House of Gucci, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, Bigfoot Family and Elvis
Watching films for free from the comfort of your own car is the calling card of Drive-in Lagos, which will begin next week at Rossio da Trindade’s former football pitch.
“Created during the pandemic, Drive-in Lagos revives a popular concept of the 20th century in which people can watch films outdoors in the comfort and safety of their vehicles,” says Lagos Council, which has decided to keep the summertime event going due to its success.
The first film to be screened will be ‘House of Gucci’, directed by Ridley Scott and starring Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons and Jared Leto, on Tuesday, August 2.
Next will be ‘The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent’, an action-packed comedy starring Nicolas Cage, on Thursday, August 4, followed by computer-animated comedy film ‘Bigfoot Family’ on Tuesday, August 9.
‘Elvis’, the new film exploring the life of the ‘King of Rock and Roll’, will bring the event to a close on Thursday, August 11.
All Drive-in Lagos movie screenings will begin at 9.30pm, with doors opening an hour earlier.
Admission is free but signing up in advance is mandatory (individual forms for each movie available on the local council’s website).
