Endesa fined for “violating rules relating to customer relations”

Energy provider Endesa has been fined €360,000 by ERSE (the sector’s regulator) for 92 violations of “several rules relating to the commercial relationship with the customer, including changing supplier without the customer’s express authorization”. In a statement, ERSE said the fine was reduced to half, 180,000 euros, because the company “cooperated, compensated consumers and gave up litigation. The reduction in the fine took into account the “compensation awarded to injured consumers and the recognition of negligent infractions”.
