Bob Bogle, lead guitarist with legendary US band, The Ventures, has died at the age of 75 following a short illness.

As the co-founder of the group, Bob Bogle had seen the band achieve huge chart success with 38 hit albums through the decades.

One of the band’s biggest claims to fame was outselling The Beatles in Japan, while they were probably best known for providing the iconic theme tune to the series Hawaii Five-O.

Don Wilson of the band confirmed that Bob had fallen ill and died after a short illness.
