Employers confederations ‘highly critical’ over obligatory extension of teleworking

Workplaces have never been sites of contagion – thus employers confederations see no reason for the government’s extension of obligatory teleworking to January 14. António Saraiva, President of CIP (the confederation of Portuguese industries) says the government ‘continues to take the easiest path and complicate the lives of businesses’. There is no justification for insisting people work from home for another week, particularly as specialists at the recent meeting at Infarmed “recommended” that working from home should only be imposed if there were ‘signs of alert’, he adds – which right now they’re patently are not.
