“Emergency dredging work” is taking place at Lagos port in order to “solve the current navigation constraints” for boats entering and exiting the port, announced Portugal’s board of natural resources, safety and maritime services (DGRM).
The work is due to continue for three weeks and will involve a “stationary platform” which will pump sediments out of the affected area.
Around 22,000 cubic metres of sediments are due to be removed from the entrance of the breakwater in order to ensure maritime safety.
