Joining the increasing ranks of public sector workers on a collision course with Portugal’s government is the syndicate of embassy workers which last night delivered a ‘pre-advice’ for six weeks of strike action, starting on December 5. As secretary general of STCDE syndicate explained: “The whole of Portuguese public administration hears today what salaries will be in 2023 (…) We, children of a lesser God in Portuguese administration, remain abroad not knowing what will be applied in our respects”. The syndicate seeks salary negotiations and the publication of agreements made with the government.
