Chef José Pinheiro and his wife Isalia have established this comfortable rustic-style restaurant in the town of Vila do Bispo as one of the top places in the western Algarve for regional cooking.
The emphasis is on refined versions of traditional stews using nothing but the freshest local ingredients cooked with great care. Try the octopus cataplana. The quality of food is matched by an excellent wine selection featuring some of Portugal’s top-quality labels.
The chef is an active member of various gastronomic associations and when he is travelling to take part in events, the restaurant may be closed. Call ahead to avoid disappointment.
