A hunter who accidentally shot and killed a young woman but did nothing to try and help her has been sentenced to eight years behind bars. António Fernandes, 61, “killed a girl, turned his back and went off”, said the president of the bench at Vila Real Court which found him guilty on various counts: gross negligent homicide, failure to give assistance and contravention of the law protecting animal species.
