EDP to install up to 150 electric car ‘rapid charge’ points in McDonald’s restaurants

EDP and McDonald’s have established an agreement for up to 150 rapid charge points for electric vehicles at various outlets of the fast-food restaurant chain. Says Expresso, the idea is for the ‘fast charge points’ to be located at restaurants ‘from the north to the south of mainland Portugal as well as in Madeira and Azores’. The first 100 will be in place by the end of this year in 50 McDonald’s restaurants. In 2022, another 25 restaurants will offering rapid-charge bays able to fully charge a vehicle within 20 to 30 minutes.
