EDP is on a crash course with its workers (the Fiequimetal syndicate) over salary increases this year. EDP has offered just 0.5% on the basis that the average salary in the company is above the Portuguese average wage. But syndicate leaders have called for a €90 increase across the board (which would take increases from 2% up to in some cases 8.8%). They also want workers entitled to 25 days per year holiday. The next meeting between bosses and the syndicate is set for February 9.
