Strategy || Electricity supplier EDP is “renovating its staff” and looking for 200 interns to turn things round.
According to the group’s CEO António Mexia, the company has a new business strategy designed to cut all unnecessary costs.
The plan was presented last week (May 14) in London and is rooted in “fewer investments and more moderate growth”.
One of the main goals is to cut €180 million-worth of expenses per year for the next four years.
Last year, for instance, the company was able to slash €120 million from its spending.
It is cost cutting like this that has enabled the company to continue to register “such strong results”, said Mexia.
