Nearly five million families will pay more for their electricity from 2011.
Prices will rise by 3.8 per cent next year, an increase of 1.5 Euros a month on the average monthly bill of 40.6 Euros.
The 700,000 or so customers on low incomes will have an increase of just one per cent, which represents an extra 0.2 Euros per month.
